100 WC week #29

The Mask

"Hahaha." I giggled to myself as I hid behind a nearby tree. I was going to scare my friend Ruby with my new cool mask I got for the summer-ween festival. "Oh, here she comes," I say to myself, "3...2...1, BOO!" I shouted
"Ahhhhhhh!!" She screamed as she was frantically running into the misty crimson field. I went to go search for her, and I found her with a gash in her knee. And the second I saw her crying and in pain, I knew I made a grave mistake.

100 WC week #27

The sprinting team

“Did you make it on to the sprinting team, Karen?” Ray asked.
“Yeah. How about you?” Karen responded.
“Yay we get to sprint together!”
“Yay!”
Later that day, Karen and Ray went to practice. But when they got there the found out they had to sprint 100 meters.
“Oh my gosh!” Ray exclaimed.
“Why do we have to run that far?” Karen added.
“I don’t know but we will do it anyway.”
They started running really fast, but although they ran quickly, they were not making enough progress.

100WC week #22

Goldy

Dashing through the door I hollered, "Mommy! Look at what daddy got me!" Holding in my hand a goldfish, with brown bubbly eyes. As I walked into the living room to put Goldy in her tank, I saw my dad struggling to change the light bulb. "Hey, daddy. Maybe Goldy can help."
"Okay, Kiddo." I handed Goldy to my dad. Holding Goldy in one hand and a light bulb in the other, Goldy slipped from his hands and flew from the ladder. Before I know it I was walking slowly with Goldy in my hands over to the toilet.

The matree statues

Hello, it's Chloe Kim reporting to you live from Surrey B.C. park. I'm here to report that there is a new statue in the park. This statue represents a type of tai chi. It's a very calming meditation that relieves stress and brings people together. But the tree part in this statue is representing the aboriginal peoples before us. They were tree people, also known as matree people. I'm Chloe Kim reporting live, back to you Nancy.

The Flood

                 Dear Diary,

Swoosh, it came down the drainpipe. It has been a total down poor for the past two weeks! And now everyone in Florida is packing their bags because the weather reporters are saying, that there will be a gigantic flood. Well thanks mother nature! Luckily, I'm already packed and my family and I have a plan to move to Canada. So I think I'm going to survive this thing. I hope. But just incase these are my last words, I'm going to...
"Weoo, weoo, weoo!"
Uh oh! The flood warning! Well off to Canada I go.

100 WC week #17

Chinese New Year

Before I cycled out the door, I checked the clock. It blinked, "9:45."
"I still have 15 minutes." I said to myself. As I continued to scamper out the door, I saw a large crowd of people. Everyone was wearing red. And so was I. Trying to snake through the crowd, I made it, right up front and centre. That's the best spot for the Chinese Dragon dance. Anxiously waiting, I lit my lantern. Staring at its beautiful yellow glow, the dragon had finally, arrived. After the dance had come to an end, we all started following the dragon and sang.

100 WC week #14

Monkey

We hired a baboon! Okay, we hired him because well, we wanted to try something advanced. Plus he was head of his class. On his first day, he was tremendous at his job. But about a week later he changed. We gave him a laptop, sense that's his job, but I guess he thought it was his lunch break. Because when we gave him the laptop, he made a powerful monkey squeal and chucked the laptop off the desk and it smashed into a million pieces. After that, we got him a banana and he was fine. I don't know why he flipped. I guess some people can't work when they're starved.

100 WC week #13

The Hungry Tiger

Being a zookeeper is a blast. Most of the time. Tigers are my favourite, but they can be a pretty grouchy at times. Earlier today, I was going to feed, Lily, with my new co-worker.
“Have you ever fed a tiger before?” I asked.
“No,” he confessed nervously, “I hope she’ll like me.”
   “She will, trust me.”
When we fed, Lily, she was as happy as a tiger could be. But as Joe and I were trying to leave, the tiger was blocking our escape.
“What will we do?” Joe cried.
“We need to act big and loud.” I ensured him. We threw our hands up and growled.

The Sandwich Thief

"Come back here!" I hollered, "Come back with my sandwich!" I had no clue who in the world would steel my sandwich. As I hurried down the damp streets, I noticed that a bunny had stolen my sandwich. Which looked exactly like the bunny from that battery commercial. The energetic one, with a snowball white tail. Wondering who on earth would wear that ridiculous costume. I eventually caught up to him. Yanking the mask off with all my might, I realized that the mask was not able to be detached.

100 WC week #11

A Walk in the Woods.

Staring. Wondering. Thinking. Thinking what on earth is that mysterious looking thing standing in the middle of the woods. Leaning towards my friend, I whispered, "Hey, Julie?"
   "Yeah?" she whispered back.
"What do you think that is?"
"I don't know. But let's go check it out."
When we approached, we noticed that it was only a statue. There was also a sign that read, "This statue represents Jacob White, who saved a child from being kidnapped."
"Interesting!" Julie said, "This man looks like he would kidnap a kid. Not save one."
"I agree." I said continuing home.

100 WC week #10

French Fries

This morning was my first day working at my new job, McDonald's. And of course, whenever I start a new job I get super clumsy. All was going great until, I was taking someones order at the drive thru. I thought that sense I've taken a few orders now, this would be easy, no problem. But as I was running to go get french fries, I bumped into the french fry maker! All I could see were fries everywhere.
"What happened?" asked Joe
"I bumped into it!" I cried sitting on the floor, "But were will we hide it all?"

100 WC week #8

The Day of The Dead Disaster.

"I can't wait for tomorrow," I told my white dog, Buddy, "I hope the way we celebrated the Day of The Dead last year won't happen again.  Remember that, Buddy? As the flames were swimming up into the sky, you got to close to the bonfire and your ear caught on fire!  I had to heave you out from the punch bowl, after I had shoved you into it to put fire the out.  And all of the decorations were ruined from you running around in circles.  Remember that, Bud?"
"Woof, woof." he replied.
"I wonder what will happen this year." I said, hoping it will be nothing like last year.

100 WC week #7

I knew my brother, Mathew, was hiding something from me,  he's just been acting so weird lately.  I just thought that puberty must of hit him or something.  He won't tell why he's acting so weird though.  Trick or treating is Mathew's favourite part of Halloween, instead he was going to a Halloween party!  Okay now I know something is up.  On Halloween I was handing out goodies to the youngsters.  After about half an hour, Mathew came bolting into the house.  And as the door slammed, I knew something had happened.  When I opened his door just enough to peek inside, I saw... Mathew... covered in... kiss marks!

100 WC week #6

Trolls are real.

Have you ever heard of trolls?  Like the ones in the fairytales?  Well they're real.  I saw one for myself.  As I was strolling past the lagoon, I saw it!  Well okay I didn't really see it.  But what I did see was legs.  Just sticking straight out of the lagoon!  But it wasn't just legs.  They had sapphire blue jeans with gray gum boots on the feet.  Which was weird because the pond was so trifling, that I thought that you would be able to see the whole thing.  But when I saw it I instantly knew that it was one of the trolls that had done it.  And in the corner of my eye I could see this mucky swampy green colour.  I kew it wasn't a tree or a bush so when I looked ...I saw it!

100 WC week #5

My most treasured item is...

It is placed on top of my moms bookshelf nicely kept in a blue box.  I wear it only on special occasions.  When I'm older I get to wear it all the time, where ever I go.  My grandma gave it to me before she passed.  When I wear it, it rests on my neck.  The beautiful silver with a few diamonds shines so beautifully, that when I look at it it reminds me of her.  She will always have a special spot in my heart, just like the item she gave me four years ago.

100 WC Week #4

My weird day.

Today was a really weird day.  When I went downstairs to munch on my cereal and I saw my mom flood it with orange juice!  I just thought she was just extra worn out today, but when I told her about it she answered, "I know."  And when I was walking home from school, I saw a squirrel snuggling a dog!  How is that not weird?  And guess what?  The dog is wearing glasses!!  I thought I was seeing things.  But I wasn't!

100 WC week #3

I was at my soccer game early this morning.  I was playing a very difficult team.  It was a five nothing game.  As I was about to pass to Julie, a girl from the other team came over to snatch the ball away, she booted my ankle so roughly that I hit the ground.  As I hit the ground I twisted my ankle terribly.  In the middle of the game I had to go to the hospital because it had turned dark purple.   Good thing I had Mr.Crocodile (my stuffy) to keep me clam.  Later I went to school.  I felt better but I had to tell my professor that I couldn't join the class in P.E for a while.

100 word challenge week 2 (The mysterious light bulb!)

     The mysterious light bulb!

BOOM!!  Thats all I heard as I was walking down the sidewalk with my mom.  We looked down into the ditch and we saw... an enormous light bulb and men investigating what happened.
     "What are their jobs, mom?"
"I'm pretty sure that's poison control."
I didn't think that a light bulb would be poison!  But after I saw the men wearing full body suits, I got the idea.  But I didn't get why this light fell from the sky and into a ditch with only concrete.  No greenery nothin'.  It almost looked like they where planing this the whole time!
